Kyoto Station: Where to Eat, What to Do and Where to Stay

Food · Things to do · Where to stay

Four things are within about 10 minutes on foot of Kyoto Station: the station building itself (Great Stairs and Skyway), Kyoto Tower, Higashi Hongan-ji and Shosei-en. To-ji, Kyoto Aquarium and Umekoji Park are about 15 minutes on foot, and the Railway Museum about 20.

Most of the eating is inside the station complex and under one roof: the ramen street on the 10th floor of the station building, the Porta restaurants, the Isetan department store, the Washoku Koji restaurant street in the Kyoto Gekijo theatre, and the food hall in Kyoto Tower Sando. Honke Daiichi-asahi opens at 6:00 and closes at 1:00 a.m. (closed Thursdays).
