Good to know

Ueno's sit-down food falls into three clusters. On the Okachimachi side, between the Ginza Line's Ueno-Hirokoji Station and JR Okachimachi, are the tonkatsu at Isen, the tempura at Tsunahachi in PARCO_ya and the dorayaki at Usagiya. Around Shinobazu Pond, Izuei serves unagi. In Ueno Park, about 3 to 5 minutes from the Park Exit of JR Ueno Station, are Ueno Seiyoken's two restaurants, Inshotei and EVERYONEs CAFE. Ameyoko runs between Ueno and Okachimachi stations, and ecute is inside Ueno Station itself.

Closed days and reservations decide most of the choices. Both Ueno Seiyoken restaurants close on Mondays, and Isen and Usagiya close on Wednesdays. Izuei's main restaurant has no regular closing day and Inshotei lists none. Usagiya bakes dorayaki until 16:00 and sells them without a reservation until then; Isen takes phone reservations for the tatami seats only, 2 groups a day; the Seiyoken Grill takes dinner by reservation only.

Time of day matters too. Seiyoken's casual restaurant closes at 17:00 on weekdays and 18:00 at weekends, Isen's dinner service ends at 20:10, and Tsunahachi's last order is 20:30. Inshotei and the ecute restaurants inside the gates stay open until 22:00. Hours change, and the sources on each card are the places' own pages, checked 20 October 2026.
