Good to know
Choose the base first, then the hotel. Niseko United is four ski areas on one mountain: Grand HIRAFU, Hanazono, Niseko Village and Annupuri. Niseko United describes Grand HIRAFU as the largest, with hotels, condos, shops and restaurants clustered at the base. Niseko Village has The Green Leaf and Hilton Niseko Village at its base, and the Annupuri base has natural onsen. Kutchan town sits below all four, and buses and taxis run from JR Kutchan and Niseko stations to each resort.
The airport coach decides how easy the first day is. The Hokkaido Resort Liner runs from New Chitose Airport daily from 1 December 2026 to 30 March 2027 at ¥6,000 for adults, and the operator gives 2 hours 30 minutes for the route that skips Rusutsu Resort and ends at the Hirafu Welcome Center. Every course needs a reservation, and only guests staying in the arrival area can book, so book the hotel first. The Chuo Bus timetable was still last season's when checked: from the 10:00 departure, Annupuri about 2 h 56, Hilton Niseko Village about 3 h 16, Hirafu about 3 h 33.
Moving between bases is the part to check. The Niseko United shuttle is open to holders of a valid lift pass; other passengers pay the regular fare on the bus. All four areas open on 28 November 2026 (Annupuri and Grand HIRAFU to 5 May 2027, Niseko Village to 4 April, Hanazono to 11 April), with night skiing from 12 December 2026 to 22 March 2027. Dates and hours are subject to change. Several hotel timetables below are last winter's and are marked as such.
