Good to know
Most of Umeda's sights are within a short walk of JR Osaka Station. The HEP FIVE Ferris wheel is about 4 minutes from the station's Midosuji exit and the Umeda Sky Building about 7. The station's own rooftop plazas are inside the complex, and Grand Front Osaka and Umekita Park sit on its north side. Ohatsu Tenjin (Tsuyu no Tenjinsha) is about 5 minutes from Hankyu Osaka-umeda.
Two groups lie further out. Osaka Tenmangu and the Tenjinbashisuji shopping street are in Tenma, reached from Minamimorimachi or Osaka-Tenmangu station. The Nakanoshima places (the Central Public Hall, Nakanoshima Park and two art museums) are on the sandbar to the south-west; both museums list about 20 minutes on foot from JR Osaka Station.
Times to plan around: the Ferris wheel takes its last boarding at 22:45 and the Sky Building its last entry at 22:00, while both museums close at 17:00 and are shut on Mondays (the National Museum stays open to 20:00 on Fridays). The Sky Building closes early on 8 November 2026, and the HEP FIVE wheel does not run on 19 November.
