Good to know
In Naha the Yui Rail station decides the base. Kencho-mae, Miebashi and Makishi are the stations for Kokusai-dori: 13, 14 and 16 minutes from Naha Airport, at ¥290 to ¥320. Asahibashi (11 minutes) is the station by Naha Bus Terminal. Omoromachi is 19 minutes out and, by one hotel's count, about a 20-minute walk from Kokusai-dori. Tomari is a 5-minute walk from Miebashi, and Oroku is 5 minutes from the airport.
Parking is the other split. JAL City Naha charges ¥1,800 a night, Comfort Inn Naha Tomari Port ¥1,000 a night for 35 first-come spaces, and Hotel Gracery Naha has no free parking (nearby lots from ¥700 for 24 hours). NAHA TOKYU REI HOTEL in Asahibashi closed after 30 September 2026 and is not listed here. Rates are not shown because they change daily; check-in and check-out are as each hotel states them.
From 1 February 2027 Okinawa Prefecture adds an accommodation tax: 2% of the room-only price per person per night, capped at ¥2,000, paid at the hotel. On Sundays from 12:00 to 18:00 about 1.3 km of Kokusai-dori is closed to cars (not in rain), and many buses detour.

It depends on what you need next to the hotel. For Kokusai-dori on foot: Miebashi, Makishi or Kencho-mae (13 to 16 minutes from Naha Airport by Yui Rail). Is Kokusai-dori closed to cars on Sundays?
Every Sunday from 12:00 to 18:00 about 1.3 km of Kokusai-dori, between the Kencho-kita-guchi and Saion-bashi intersections, is closed to ordinary cars, except in rain. Many buses detour in those hours; Hotel JAL City Naha notes this on its access page.
Is there a hotel tax in Okinawa?
Yes, from 1 February 2027. Okinawa Prefecture's accommodation tax is 2% of the room-only price per person per night, with the price capped at ¥100,000 and the tax at ¥2,000, collected by the hotel. The prefecture lists Motobu, Onna, Chatan, Miyakojima, Ishigaki and Nago as places that add their own municipal tax; Naha and Yomitan are not on that list.
Is NAHA TOKYU REI HOTEL still open?
No. Tokyu Hotels announced that it would close with check-out and breakfast on 30 September 2026, when its building lease ended. It is not listed on this page.
