Beppu: What to Do and Where to Stay

Food · Things to do · Where to stay

Beppu's sights centre on Kannawa, about 20 minutes by bus from JR Beppu Station: five of the seven hells (one common ticket, adults ¥2,400, valid two days), steam cooking at Jigoku Mushi Kobo and the Kannawa Mushiyu steam bath. Takegawara Onsen and its sand bath are about 10 minutes on foot from the station, and Myoban, the Beppu Ropeway and Takasakiyama are each a bus ride away.
