Good to know

Food in Harajuku and Omotesando comes in three kinds. On Takeshita Street it is crêpes and sweets eaten on the move. On the side streets it is single-dish shops: gyoza, tonkatsu, ramen. Along Omotesando avenue and Meiji-dori it is restaurant floors inside buildings: WITH HARAJUKU, Harakado, Omotesando Hills and Omokado. For a meal after 20:00, the buildings are the safer choice, because their restaurant floors stay open later than their shops.

The numbers that decide the evening: Harakado's restaurant floors (5F to 7F) run 11:00–23:00, Omotesando Hills restaurants 11:00–22:30 (to 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays), AFURI 10:00–23:00 until the soup runs out, and Harajuku Gyoza-ro 11:30–22:00 with last order at 21:30. The shopping floors close earlier: Omotesando Hills shops and cafés and the Omokado shopping floors at 20:00, Harakado's at 21:00. For breakfast, bills Omotesando opens at 8:30 and the Starbucks branches in Omokado and WITH HARAJUKU at 8:00.

Two gaps in the sources. Takeshita Street's shopping association says to ask each shop for its hours, and Marion Crepes' store list gives an address but no hours, so the Takeshita crêpe stand is listed without them. The association also asks visitors to keep to the left and move in one direction because the street is very crowded. Last order is earlier than closing time at most restaurants here, and Shiseido Parlour The Harajuku is closed on Mondays.
