Good to know

Most of Arima is a small, steep town you cover on foot. Kin no Yu, the spring sources, Tansan Spring Park, Gin no Yu, Taiko no Yudonokan and Onsen-ji sit on one loop that starts at Nene Bridge outside Arima Onsen Station. Zuihoji Park is about 20 minutes uphill, and the ropeway leaves from the upper edge of town.

The two public baths close on different Tuesdays: Kin no Yu on the 2nd and 4th, Gin no Yu on the 1st and 3rd, so on most Tuesdays one of the two is open. Both are cheaper on ordinary weekdays, and the two-bath ticket is ¥1,200. Towels are sold, not lent.

From Shin-Kobe or Sannomiya it is about 30 minutes by subway and the Kobe Electric Railway, changing at Tanigami and Arimaguchi, or by the Arima Express bus via the Sannomiya Bus Terminal. From JR Osaka Station by train, allow about an hour.
