Good to know
Decide first whether you want to walk or ride the hotel shuttle. Only the station hotel on this page is a few minutes on foot from JR Atami Station. The town centre and Sun Beach side is 10–15 minutes' walk; the port at Wadahama, Nishikigaura and the hillside hotels are reached by hotel shuttle, route bus or taxi. The Itoen Hotels shuttles (New Fujiya, Oonoya, Uomisaki) run from the station in the afternoon and back in the morning.
Getting there: from Tokyo, the Tokaido Shinkansen Kodama takes about 45 minutes and stops at Atami on every run; the Hikari takes about 35 minutes but only about three a day stop there; the Nozomi does not stop. The all-reserved Odoriko limited express takes about 1 hour 20 minutes, and a direct local train on the JR Tokaido Line about 1 hour 50 minutes.
Rates change daily, so this page gives none. Check-in at all eight is from 15:00 where the hotel states it; check-out is between 10:00 and 12:00.
