Pick the base first. Two hotels are at JR Miyazaki Station itself: JR Kyushu Hotel Miyazaki beside the west exit and Toyoko Inn Miyazaki Ekimae one minute away. Five more are in the Tachibana-dori and Chuo-dori blocks near the Nishitachi restaurants: four give 10 to 15 minutes on foot from the station, and Super Hotel gives about 5 minutes by taxi; Dormy Inn Miyazaki and Super Hotel Miyazaki both have a natural hot spring bath.
Outside the centre, Miyazaki Kanko Hotel faces the Oyodo River, about 5 minutes by taxi from the station. Phoenix Seagaia Resort is about 30 minutes by route bus from stop West 2, with a tower hotel, condominiums and cottages. Route-Inn Grantia Aoshima Taiyokaku is about 20 minutes by car from the station. Nazuna Obi is a five-room inn in a samurai house in Obi Castle Town, and the Route-Inn hotels in Nobeoka and Miyakonojo (for Sekinoo Falls) are the bases further afield.
