The hot spring towns, Akiu and Sakunami, are a bus or rail ride out of the city, and several of their hotels run shuttles from the station.
The Ichibancho and Kokubuncho side sits between the station and the downtown streets. Sendai Tourism calls Kokubuncho Tohoku’s largest entertainment district. Three hotels here are within a minute of Hirose-dori Station, one subway stop from Sendai Station.
