Naoshima: What to Do and Where to Stay

Food · Things to do · Where to stay

Naoshima's art sits in three places: Chichu Art Museum, Benesse House Museum, Lee Ufan Museum and the yellow Pumpkin in the Benesse area; the Art House Project, ANDO MUSEUM and the Naoshima New Museum of Art in and near Honmura; and the I♥湯 bath and the Red Pumpkin at Miyanoura port. Chichu needs a timed online ticket, and most sites close on Mondays.

The pages below cover what to do on the island, with Teshima Art Museum as a boat trip, and where to stay: in the Benesse area, Miyanoura or Honmura, or across the water at Uno (about 20 minutes by ferry) or Takamatsu (about 30 minutes by high-speed boat).
