Shirahama Station is a bus ride from the onsen town: the beach and Yuzaki are about 15 to 20 minutes away by Meiko Bus or 10 to 15 minutes by taxi. Choose the base first. The four beachfront hotels here are 30 seconds to 1 minute on foot from Shirarahama; the two Yuzaki inns stand 1 minute from the Shin-Yuzaki bus stop; Hotel Kawakyu and Coganoi run free shuttles from the station.

By train, without the town bus
Kawakyu's free shuttle leaves the station at 13:55, 14:50, 15:55 and 16:55 with no booking. Coganoi runs a free shuttle from the station every day.
Arriving late
Kishu Hanto takes check-in until 23:00 (call after 20:00). Shiraraso takes it until 22:00 on room-only and breakfast plans, 19:30 with dinner.
By highway bus or plane
The highway bus from Osaka Namba (OCAT) stops at Shirahama Onsen Yuzaki, 1 minute from Kishu Hanto, in about 3 hours 30 minutes. Hotel Seamore is about 15 minutes by route bus from Nanki-Shirahama Airport.

Is it better to stay near Shirahama Station?
The station is a bus ride from the hotels. The beach and Yuzaki are about 15 to 20 minutes away by Meiko Bus. Hotel Kawakyu and Shirahama Coganoi Resort & Spa run free shuttles from the station instead.
How do I get to Shirahama from Osaka or Tokyo?
By limited express from Shin-Osaka about 2 hours 30 minutes, from Tennoji about 2 hours, from Kyoto about 2 hours 50 minutes. Highway buses from Osaka Namba (OCAT) or Osaka Station take about 3 hours 30 minutes. From Tokyo, JAL flies from Haneda to Nanki-Shirahama Airport in about an hour.
