For trains, stay at Kagoshima-Chuo Station: JR Kyushu Hotel Kagoshima is about 1 minute from the ticket gates and APA Hotel about 1 minute from the west exit. Tenmonkan is the other city base, a short tram ride away, with airport bus stops 1–3 minutes from remm Kagoshima and Dormy Inn Kagoshima.
SHIROYAMA HOTEL kagoshima (on Shiroyama) and Kagoshima Sun Royal Hotel (Yojiro) are not walkable from the station; both run free shuttle buses from Kagoshima-Chuo. To stay on Sakurajima itself, Rainbow Sakurajima is about 7 minutes on foot from the ferry.
For the sand bath, Ibusuki is about 60 minutes from Kagoshima-Chuo by rapid train, and both Ibusuki hotels here have their own sand bath and a free shuttle from Ibusuki Station. Rates change daily, so no prices are given here; Kirishima hotels are not yet on this page.

Hakusuikan's sand bath is first come, first served on the day. Kyukamura Ibusuki has a sand bath and the Chirin no Yu hot spring. Both run free shuttles from Ibusuki Station.
