Good to know

Pick the base by what the trip is for. South of Karuizawa Station, the three Prince hotels sit by the ski slopes and the Prince Shopping Plaza, on a free shuttle from the south exit (East and West are also 10–13 minutes on foot). North of the station is the side for Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza, about 20 minutes on foot. The Hoshino area, near Naka-Karuizawa, has Harunire Terrace, Tombo-no-yu and the Stone Church on its doorstep, but is about 20 minutes from Karuizawa Station by bus.

From Tokyo, Asama and Hakutaka trains on the Hokuriku Shinkansen take about an hour: 63 minutes on a Hakutaka and 67 minutes on an Asama that also stops at Annaka-Haruna, in JR East's October 2026 timetable. Naka-Karuizawa is one stop further on the Shinano Railway, about 4 minutes.

Room rates move daily, so none are listed here. Check-in and check-out times are given where the hotel states them.
