Hakodate: Where to Eat, What to Do and Where to Stay

Food · Things to do · Where to stay

Most of Hakodate's sights sit on one streetcar line. The station and the Morning Market (about 1 minute on foot) are the first group, with the Bay Area, Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse and Motomachi about 5 minutes by streetcar; Goryokaku and Yunokawa Onsen are the second and third.

Hakodate's food sits in two clusters: around JR Hakodate Station, with the Morning Market and Daimon Yokocho, and about 15 minutes on foot toward the bay. The seafood bowls are a morning and lunchtime meal. For a stay, the choice is Hakodate Station and the Morning Market, the Bay Area and Motomachi, or Yunokawa Onsen for a hot-spring night.
