Asahikawa: What to Do and Where to Stay

Asahiyama Zoo is the main reason most visitors come, and it needs half a day: the route bus from Asahikawa Station takes about 40 minutes. It opens only in set periods, so check the calendar first.

The rest is spread by direction. Heiwa-dori starts at the station front and Tokiwa Park is beside it, and the Miura Ayako Museum is about 20 minutes on foot east of the station. Asahidake is the one day trip on the list, about 1 hour 48 minutes from the station by the first bus.
